Password Reset

You can quickly change your password via ClassLink on a Chromebook or with your Windows computer.

Changing Your Password Via A Chromebook:

Step 1:


After powering on a Chromebook, enter your current username and password as you typically do.

Step 2:


You will be prompted to create a new password. Your new password, must meet the following criteria:

  • Your new password must be at least 12 characters long.
  • Your new password does not contain all or part of the user's account name.
  • Your new password must contain characters from three of the four following categories:
    • Uppercase characters (A through Z)
    • Lowercase characters (a through z)
    • Numbers (0 through 9)
    • Special characters (for example, !, @, #, $, (space))
    • Your password cannot contain 3 or more sequential characters (abc, 123) or reverse sequences (321, cba)
  • Pro Tip - Use a passphrase instead of a password. Here are some ideas:
    • We were made 4 another world!
    • 2 Be Or Not To Be (spaces count as symbols)
    • 80sNeverGonnaGiveYouUp*

If your password doesn’t meet the criteria, you will get a notice:

Once completed, you can continue as normal.


IMPORTANT:

If you click off the box, you will have to restart!

Please keep the following in mind



  • After this change has been made, you will need to update any service using your Google or Microsoft account login to reflect the new password. (For example, if you have the GMail app installed on your phone, you will need to update to the new password in that app.)


  • This will affect how you log into any district-owned Windows computer, your Google account (GMail, Google Docs, Chromebooks), and well as ClassLink.


  • If you forget your password, you will need to reach out to one of our district technicians to reset it. No one in the Technology Department or any other departments SHOULD EVER ask you for your password under any circumstances. Never share your password.


Changing Your Password Via Windows:


Step 1:


Log into a Windows computer as you normally would. You will then be prompted by Windows to update your password. Click OK.

Step 2:


Select a new password. Your new password, must meet the following criteria:

If your password doesn’t meet the above criteria, you will receive an error message:

Step 3:


Once you have successfully updated your password, the Windows login process will continue as normal.
